Faith Letter of the Month Club

Faith Letters, as with any letters, by Inspired By Sam will not be repeated to the same child. Faith Letters will be sent In Jesus’ Love unless otherwise specified. These letters are also available as Single letters and Letter Packs, too. If you prefer, Faith letters may be mixed with Herbie’s "Letter of the Month Club" letters.

Faith letters begin with…

“What is the Bible, Who wrote the Bible and How old is it?” –“What are the Old and New Testaments?” – “Where did the Bible stories happen?” – “All things created” - “10 Commandments” - “What was Israel like?” - “What kind of jobs did people have?” – “Where did children go to school?” – “What did people do for fun?” – “How did people travel - get from one place to another?” From this point on our letters include information about the many favorite stories in the Bible…Jesus’ Birth, Jesus’ Life, People of the Bible, Miracles in the Bible and much, much more.

Jesus is very proud of you, Sam! Just like your Mommy and Daddy, Jesus loves you so very much! Did you know that a book was created years ago to help us learn just how much Jesus loves us? What is your favorite book to read? My favorite book to read is the Bible. Have you seen that big old book on your mommy and daddy’s nightstand or maybe it is on a shelf or table. Well, that big old book is the Bible, Sam. The Bible is so big because it is made up of 66 books, which was written by at least 40 different people guided by God! The Bible is the Holy book of the Christian faith. Christians read the Bible to learn about God and Jesus. The Bible has many wonderful stories of adventure, mystery, love, lessons - rules that we should always follow and history. Yes, history! We learn so much from reading our history.

Do you know how old the Bible is, Sam? Very old! People have been reading the Bible or at least parts of it for thousands of years. Did you know that a young boy once found some scrolls in a cave and they turned out to be a 2,000 year old copy of the Old Testament!!! WOW! That is a long time ago, isn’t it Sam? That is way before we were born! The scrolls were found near a body of water called the Dead Sea located in Israel, so the scrolls are called the Dead Sea Scrolls. Pretty neat, isn’t it Sam? One of the reasons that the Bible is my favorite book is because it is like a long letter written to us from God. He made sure there were stories written that we could learn from, encourage us, give us hope and guide us. If we are having a bad day the Bible can help with that, too! God made sure there were plenty of verses to make us feel better and a lot where He tells us that He loves us.

I will end on a verse for you … “Your word is a lamp to my feet; and a light to my path.” Psalm 119:105 I hope you enjoyed your first letter about the Bible. I pray that you have a wonderful month.
